Since opening in 1958, The Agnes Pratt Home has had an affiliation with the United Church of Canada and is guided in its operation by the values of the United Church. The Home recognizes the importance of a holistic approach based on the belief that people have a variety of needs: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
A resident’s spiritual needs are related to his/her personal beliefs and faith commitment. These are expressed by, but not limited to, forms of prayer, worship, sacraments, observance of holy days, dietary regulations, and preparations for death and funeral rites.
In addition to these needs, all our residents, their families and staff need spiritual comfort, consolation, encouragement and support, particularly at times of personal crisis. The Agnes Pratt Home, through its Pastoral Care Program, aims to meet these needs.
